scraps2love.com

Yep that's my new website: http://www.scraps2love.com/
I will be saying good-bye to etsy and concentrating strictly on my website.

I have added a couple of new girl dolls and also one fabulous super hero boy doll.

As I mentioned yesterday, I am at the campground and I will be working on cutting out several new dolls over the next couple days.

I have had a special request for a Merida doll, you know from the new Pixar movie Brave, so I will be working on her first. Here is a picture of Merida in case you are wondering what she looks like.
I will also be working on several new boy dolls because when I was out shopping the other day, I found some really cute boy fabric!

So there you have it, the new website Scraps2Love is now live, stop by and shop! :)

Home away from home

Summer vacation has finally begun for us and today I am writing this blog post from our home away from home! We spend the summer at our favorite campground. Today the little miss and I loaded up the car and headed out!
I packed up my laptop, a rubbermaid container full of fabrics and other important items and plan to work on some Scrappy Buddies while I am here.
With that being said, let the summer time activities begin!

Celebrating 72 years!

This past weekend we celebrated my mother-in-laws 72nd birthday!

For those that don't know, my mother-in-law won the battle against cancer this past winter and we are really happy to celebrate this milestone with her.
Here she is with all the grandchildren.

We had such a beautiful day, the weather was amazing! The kids hung out by the pool.
This is my little niece, isn't she adorable?!

As we were cleaing up that night, we had a surprise visit...from this thing!

I have no idea what this bug is, nor do I know where I got my bravery from to take it's picture!

All in all, it was a great day!

Once upon a time...

Don't all great stories start like that? Well here is the story of how Scraps2Love came about....

I started out as just an ordinary mom of two little boys, when one day, the magical stork came and bestowed upon our family, a beautiful little princess. She was pretty, smart, and VERY girly.

One morning, while searching the internet for beautiful dresses for my little princess, I came across some hand made boutique items and thought, I can make those! So my sewing journey began!

I created dresses, twirl skirts, capri sets, and so on and so forth for several years, until one day it all came to a stop.

Why you ask? Well frankly, I felt like I got into a rut.

I took about a year off from creating, when the twitch started happening. I kept thinking...oh I could do this with this fabric and that with this fabric, until one day when I was surrounded by piles of scraps, with my ideas running through my head, my daughter came to me and said,

"Mom, you have to much fabric and scraps! You really should do something
with them."
So I asked,
"Well, what to do you suggest?"
"Why not make something people will love from these scraps?" she said.

So after thinking for a little bit and running through some ideas, we came up with the name Scrap2Love. She picks the fabrics that I use and I do all the sewing.

I think we have really found our niche with the Scrappy Dolls. It is something we both enjoy creating.

The End...well it's not really the end of our story, it's just the beginning! :)
